Winter Driving in Supercars

One thing you can bank on, is the British weather being pretty depressing during the winter months. Where we are lucky is the real lack of intense cold, ice and little snow, unless you live way up in the north of the country. Such poor weather means that it's not a suprise that many people tend to store there sports and supercars away for the winter, hidden under some sort of blanket in a garage, or if the said car is really special, in a temperature controlled environment free of humidity and all those nasty wet leaves. Now, if you think about it, we do have the odd clear crisp day, where the sun shines low on the horizon, and it is these days that some of the best driving can be had on the UK's 'fun' B roads. In our rental market, especially with the Supercars we notice a definite reduction in hires and enquiries during in January and February. Most people are saving their pennies for the hot summer days so they can get the roof down on a Ferrari California, or maybe shoot round the streets of London in the new V10 Lamborghini Huracan. If however you are a 'real' driver with an enthusiasm for Supercars or sports cars, then I can assure you that this is one of the best times to get behind the wheel of something that has a bit of grunt. Personally, I would choose the 4 wheel drive variants, such as the Lamborghini, Nissan GTR or maybe the Porsche, just to give me that little extra grip in corners, as in winter the roads tend to be a tad more slippery than usual. Obviously, if you have the money you could opt for some winter ice driving in Scandinavia, but it is very costly. It is a lot cheaper to hire a Supercar from Premiere Velocity mid-week for a couple of days, as at this time of year we have some great savings on as well. At present we have a 20% discount on all bookings through the year if paid for in full during January or February, so now is the perfect time to take advantage and get out there driving some of the worlds best cars.
